PostSubject: A Poem For The Children Of Sandy Hook.   A Poem For The Children Of Sandy Hook. EmptySun Dec 16, 2012 1:22 am

As I sit here and write this with tears in my eyes, your souls fly away, light bright fireflies.

Your innocence is gone, like a lonesome sad song, and everything about this screams this is wrong.

Tragedy has stuck, like a stroke of dumb luck, leaving us all sad and dumbstruck.

I mourn for you all, though day and nightfall, knowing there will never be a cure all.

Society's to blame, for continuing the game, that has us all idle our emotions aflame.

Gone but not forgotten, your souls shall be, leaving this earth, without knowing you're free.

How could this have happened, how is evil so beckoned, no matter what, this pain is not lessened.

As a father I know, deep down in my soul, my daughter's my life, and so is my wife.

This night I shed tears, for these children’s lost years, never will they make it, to their mid-years.

May your souls find peace and your pain finally cease, you’ve left this world, and you have your release.

May the angels surround you, and give you a new, world to live in, with a beautiful view.

May peace be your friend, from now till then end, may your soul ascend, and begin to mend.

Once more I cry, as I wish you goodbye, I cherish you all, even after you die.

Beautifully written, Jarhead,

I always knew you ran ''deep''. But this poem truly shows your character. I can sense such a loving caring, and compassionate spirit in you and truly "feel "from where you are coming.

I know this is about the kids /victims, and do not wish to take from that - God rest their souls...
but I I have to say this : You have a beautiful heart Jimmy...a heart for others..unlike so many who only think about themselves . Imo, you go deeper than most. Today, I fell more in love with you and truly feel priviledged/blessed to know you .

Thank you for your poem. It truly spoke to my heart. That was really touching...
...tis so sad for ALL and those left behind.
To console my heart , I just imagine them all in Heaven happily laughing - abiding in LOVE and peace. They are safe in the arms of Jesus/God Almighty .

Again, my heart and prayers go out to those families...
Hugs, JH...

Thank you for your kind words. All of the political bickering was getting to me and I just had to get some words out. I pains me that people act the way they do when tragedies like this happen.

Let us not forget, the fate that these children met, and the shame that our nation has brought.

The conspiracies vary, effecting the weary, and leaving us with questions unanswered.

So conveluded the stary has become, knowing the truth will never come.

Agendas are pushed, the wicked seem founded, to take away our rights, leaving us dumbfounded.

United we stand, divided we fall, this nation is crumbling, and taking down us all.

We must stand tall, to honor the call, that patriotism has laid upon us.

We will not give up, we will shine through, the politicians way at a narrow view.

The children are gone, all that is left is a song, and sadness tearing us apart.

We must strive on. even with them gone, from near and from very far.

I end this poem with a glimmer of hope, that one day you;ll wake up and remove the rope.

Freedom is there, for those who care, and is awaiting our call patiently,

Life is a blessing, nothing is free, so live your life in a bright jubilee.
