I believe that one of the threats that the US will face in the near future - no, strike that - a threat that is facing us NOW, which may very well deal the country a devastating, crippling, and possibly even fatal blow, is that of a nuclear attack launched from Venezuela or elsewhere in the GOM/Caribbean/Central America/South America theater.
Venezuela? Yes, Venezuela.
Why? Because Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad are BFFs! The one thing they share above all else is a hatred of the United States, and they go to bed each night with an evil smile on their ugly faces knowing that when they wake up they will be one day closer to their goal. Check out who else Chavez is buddy buddy with in the picture on the right: Bashar al-Assad, the beleaguered Syrian President - also no friend of the US, and the owner of the largest stockpile of Chem/Bio WMDs outside of the US and Russia.

The regime in Caracas has also agreed on allowing a joint military base where Iranian Shihab 3 and Scud missiles will be deployed. Venezuela could thus become a base from where Iran is able to strike (militarily and through terrorist proxies) at America.
Moreover, the country is also a main supplier of uranium for Iran’s nuclear program. Both countries are conducting explorations in remote areas near the Guyanese border for additional uranium deposits. That, of course, circumvents sanctions meant to prevent Iran from achieving nuclear weapon capabilities.
And then there’s the matter of Iran’s support of terrorist groups whose ultimate goal is asymmetric warfare. It is well known that Hezbollah, its “terrorist subcontractor,” has set up cells and networks all over Latin America, using the cocaine trade to fund its operations.
A war is about to begin; flashpoint Syria. One day, it may be called World War III, but for now I'm just going to call it the way I see it: It is the Gog/Magog War prophesied in Ezekiel 38-39, and the fallout from this war will not be confined to the Middle East.
On Sunday, Russia warned the US and NATO that any attack on Iran would have worldwide repercussions, and I've lost count how many times the Iranians have threatened us and the Europeans should hostilities begin. IRGC and Hezbollah sleeper cells are spread throughout the world just waiting for an order to move on their targets. The Federal government is well aware of the threat posed by IRGC and Hezbollah agents in Central and South America. These guys have been in place for years, and I'm sure that they "habla" quite well. Just how hard do you think it would be for one of the drug cartels, the Zetas perhaps (which btw were accused of conspiring with Hezbollah to assassinate the Saudi Ambassador last year) to sneak a few brown-skinned, Spanish-speaking men across our southern border with one of their drug shipments?

— U.S. Marines are reportedly hunting for Los Zetas cartel members in south Guatemala in "Operation Martillo."
— Two CIA employees were accidentally shot by Mexican Federales at a checkpoint ahead of a drug training session in Mexico.
— Navy SEALs are reportedly on a mission to hunt down Sinaloa Cartel kingpin Chapo Guzman, who may be hiding out in Mexico, northern Honduras or the tri-corner area of Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil.
These are not ordinary law enforcement operations, like the large-scale Drug Enforcement Administration task force that destroyed Colombia's Medellin Cartel in 1993.
They are national security operations, led by the Departments of State and Defense, whose strategic statements say their first mission is to defend the U.S. and its interests.
The operations seem to have the appearance of hunting for drugs. But their real mission is to end the threat of cartels that are not only menacing small Central American states, but also acting as critical intermediaries for terror groups such as Hezbollah.
In testimony to Congress last year, Gen. Douglas Fraser noted that the Southern Command was watching for "the implications of activities of nations such as Iran in our area of responsibility."
IRGC To Base Long Range Missiles In Venezuela Iran wants to set up a base on Venezuelan soil for medium-range missiles and deepen its strategic cooperation with the regime of Hugo Chavez. As "online world" learned from Western security sources, an agreement between the two countries during the last visit of the Venezuelan president in Tehran on 19 Signed October. The previously undisclosed contract provides for the establishment of a jointly operated military base in Venezuela, and the joint development of ground-to-ground missiles.
The agreement follows a recommendation of the Supreme Security Council of Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and religious leader Ali Khamenei a few months ago. According to information this newspaper, the Security Council had proposed a joint military facility on Venezuelan soil to increase the deterrent power of Iran against the West. The cooperation would be a way for Iran to build a strategic base in the South American continent - in the backyard of the United States.
That article is almost two years old. The bases are most likely built and operational by now. Here's some more recent news.
CSIS (Canadian Intelligence) Agent David Harris feels this is a terrible threat, even to Canada.

OK, so the Iranians have means, motive, and opportunity to launch a strike against the US from their bases in Venezuela once hostilities begin. The Shahab-3 missile can easily do what the Iranians intend; an EMP strike against the United States. But where will they get a nuclear weapon? Well, Ahmadinejad does swim with the worst of the worst, including North Korea, which does have nuclear weapons and a huge axe to grind with the US. Iran and North Korea have been trading missile and nuclear technology for many years, and I don't see any problem with a scenario where North Korea gives Iran a nuclear warhead to strike at their mutual enemy.
I heard a lot of laughter and derision of the North Koreans after their first tests were deemed failures because their bombs didn't boom too well; but then some people were having to eat crow when the real reason for the weapons relatively low yields was revealed.

North Korea’s nuclear tests have been dismissed as failures by some analysts because of their low explosive yield. But Dr. Pry believes they bore the “signature” of the Russian-designed “super-EMP” weapon, capable of emitting more gamma radiation than a 25-megaton nuclear weapon.
The US government, while publicly denying a threat, is privately well aware of it.

The Commission is charged with identifying any steps it believes should be taken by the United States to better protect its military and civilian systems from EMP attack.
The EMP Commission was reestablished via the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2006 to continue its efforts to monitor, investigate, make recommendations, and report to Congress on the evolving threat to the United States from electromagnetic pulse attack resulting from the detonation of a nuclear weapon or weapons at high altitude.

The Iranians don't even need to have accurate targeting data, nor do they need to worry about any of the US's anti-missile defenses; because we don't have any.
Nor do they need the bases in Venezuela. All they need is a container ship, and as the above video explained they have practiced this very thing a few times, and they can blanket the entire country with a massive EMP.
Someone will no doubt come along and point out that Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khameni has said that nuclear weapons were "un-Islamic" ( Tell that to the Pakistanis) and that proves that the Islamic Republic is not seeking nuclear weapons. Apparently, he doesn't have the same reservations about an EMP.

98% of the cars and trucks that are on the road today have computer chips vital to the car's function. Those computer chips will be fried by the blast and the vehicles rendered into nothing but massive roadblocks wherever they may happen to stall. Life as we know it will end in a heartbeat. Could this be why the Federal government bought the 1.4 Billion rounds of ammunition, to hold back the hordes of starving people trying to leave the cities in their millions? Before you say, "Awwww, Bob they wouldn't do that." I'd like to remind you that it wouldn't be the first time. Remember Hurricane Katrina?
My friends, please hear me. Do NOT count on anyone to come save you if there is an EMP attack against the US, which is an extremely likely scenario. The Iranians know they can't beat the US in a toe-to-toe fight, so they are going to destroy our delicate electronic infrastructure. Two, three bombs at the most and the Great Satan is no more. It makes perfect sense to me, and it is well within their capabilities. You must prepare to rely on yourselves in order to survive. Buy beans, bullets, and as much food and water as you can. Get ready to hunker down and defend yourselves.
I would also be very wary of any Federal offers of aid, especially if "relocating" has anything to do with it. Perhaps the way the Elite intend to get the populace into their FEMA slave labor camps is not by going out and rounding up dissidents, but by allowing a complete meltdown of American society such that people will be begging to get in.
Well I didn't actually mean to spend the last 6 hours writing this, including an unfortunate copy accident that cost me more than half of it, but there is a bare bones look into why I feel that an EMP attack is an extremely likely scenario, and is something we should be prepared for.
