| The liberal agenda seems to be taking over all aspects of life in America these days. It is now to the point that they feel the need to re-write our constitution via school textbooks and hoping that the parents either don't notice or just go with it. In my opinion it should be highly illegal to do what they have done. They might as well just throw out the constitution which I am sure they would love to. All I can say right now is that if my daughter ends up in public schools and they try to pull this crap they will be in for some trouble because I will raise hell if I were to come across something like this in one of her textbooks. Rotten to the Core: New Curriculum Rewrites the 2nd Amendment
Categories: Domestic Affairs, Politics
Guyer High School (among others) has been thrust into the limelight for its use of United States History: Preparing for the Advanced Placement Examination. In this common core required reading, it doesn’t take long to notice something slightly amiss.
On page 102, there is a glaring misinterpretation of our 2nd Amendment. The book’s definition reads as, “The people have a right to keep and bear arms in a state militia.” Translation – only those in a state militia can bear arms. FALSE.
The real 2nd Amendment reads, “A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” Our founding father were pretty clear about that, because they knew what is was like to live in a tyrannical government. It is essential as Americans, that we have this right in order to prevent history from repeating itself. See: Stalin, Hitler, Pot, Mao.
If you continue reading, you will notice that other amendments are misinterpreted as well.
This is further proof that this dangerous curriculum not only “dumbs down” our children, but is also being used as a tool of indoctrination. It’s no small wonder why Obama and his cronies pushed for it. Putting such ideas in the minds of children now will make it so much either to control them later.
How can teachers, who should know their history, in good faith teach what is obviously so blatantly wrong? You cannot rewrite history – it is what it is, whether the Obama Administration likes it or not. Education should not be handled by the government. Education should be held at the local and state level. Communities should be involved and have a say in what their children are taught. This so called common standard is already proving to be worthless, as more and more states, realizing it to be bullcrap, are dropping it. Ergo, there is no national standard, making Common Core already null and void.
Education cannot be a “one size fits all” idea, and this cookie cutter curriculum disregards the fact that each student is different, and so their educational needs are different. The schools need to design their programs around the children that they teach – keeping in mind those who need more help, and those who need more challenge.
It’s a dangerous game they are playing with the futures of our children, already bleak as it is. It is vital that our kids be taught the TRUTH about our Constitution, our Bill of Rights, the foundation of faith and freedom that we proudly call ours, and about our men and women who fought for them so that they could be free – not enslaved by any government.

- CALL TO ACTION
Contact your representatives and Senators, and implore them to repeal Common Core. Contact your governor and encourage him to sign any legislation to repeal the Common Core Curriculum. I would also encourage you to go to your district’s school meetings; take a stand, have a say. Your state may also have a anti-common core webpage – if not, start one up and spread the word. Many of these sites offer printable information that you can use to alert your friends and family and distribute in school district meetings. This is not only for the good of our children today, but for the good of our nation who will be led by them tomorrow.
The aim of education should be to teach us rather how to think, than what to think - rather to improve our minds, so as to enable us to think for ourselves, than to load the memory with thoughts of other men. ~Bill Beattie
