This video has been making it's way around the net this week so I thought it would be a good thing to post here. The police officer in this incident was in the wrong no matter what the kid was doing. Even if the kid was resisting arrest or fighting with the officer (which he clearly wasn't) there is no excuse for pistol whipping someone with your finger on the trigger of a loaded weapon. The sad part is that the police had this video 2 days after it happened and have yet to punish the officer. The 19 year old spent four months in lockup over this. The entire department needs to be investigated and anyone who had a hand in covering this up should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I hope the citizens of this county will call for the resignation of the sheriff because he obviously can not handle the position properly. This case could be used to send a message to all police forces out there of what happens when corruption takes over. Too bad that it will probably just stay under the rug they swept it under and nothing will come of this. I hope this kid wins his civil lawsuit for what has happened to him.

A Cottage City 19-year-old spent nearly 4 months in jail after Corporal Donald Taylor claimed Ryan Dorm assaulted him and the gun went off as Taylor struggled with him. The surveillance video is from a business on Perry Street near Rhode Island Avenue in the Brentwood area. Attorney Jimmy Bell, who represents Dorm, says the video shows Taylor out-and-out "lied" when he wrote up a report supporting assault charges against his client.
The incident started when Dorm and a friend say they went to the "Lowest Price" gas station convenience store late that night to buy snacks. Dorm says his friend was wearing a ski mask because it was cold, but two police officers thought he looked suspicious and were going to rob the store. Ryan says he wanted to avoid any trouble, so he left.. But he says Taylor and a second officer followed him. The video shows Dorm being approached from behind, then smacked in the head with a gun. The video shows the flash from the gun as Dorm was being struck.
Taylor has been indicted and faces a trial in November. Bell has filed a $10 million dollar civil lawsuit in the case."

Hell yes it was excessive, not to mention idiotic. The round that was discharged could very easily have gone into the boy's head, or possibly even killed someone walking down the street minding their own business blocks away. He must be a young cop, unfamiliar with the purpose of blackjacks. I hope homie gets PAID, maybe then the city will train their officers properly. Unfortunately, sometimes the only way to get their attention is to hit them where it hurts; the wallet.
I'd like to see that "public servant" lose his job too, maybe spend a year or two in the clink. That kind of wanton disregard for human life must not go unanswered. You can bet if he was a civilian who had assaulted someone like that, any proper judge would throw the book at him; but since he's a police officer, watch it quietly go away.
